For those of you maybe considering the Lake Erie Circle Tour, Toledo is a likely destination. Located between Cleveland and Detroit on the western end of Lake Erie, it's worth a stop in Toledo. Lots of Canadians also pass through Toledo on the way south as it is one of the cities along I-75.

Have you seen Emma, Bubbles or Cupid on Discovery.com? Maybe it's time to see the Toledo residents in person and visit their home, the first underwater viewing Hippoquarium in the United States. In the Toledo Zoo, that is.

This zoo has over 3,000 animals of 525 different species and is so popular, that Discovery's "HippoCam" isn't the only one. The network has also put in a "Polar Bear Cam", which lets you watch the animals live 24 hours a day.

For a more hands on animal experience, try the Africa Wildlife Park, just west of Cedar Point. Here you can feed the animals and even go for a pig ride.

If you have something more relaxing in mind, go on a Red Witch Charter tour and enjoy 3 hours of sailing. Or stroll through the 57 acres of the Toledo Botanical Garden. Not only does it have all sorts of plants, it's also filled with artists galleries. And don't forget the nations' largest and most visited indoor/outdoor museum.

And finally, here's something for the ladies. How does the Toledo Firefighters Museum sound? Here you can see 150 years of firefighters, uhm, firefighting. The museum has vintage pumpers and of course, the uniforms. And it gets better. Admission is free!

Since Toledo is roughly an hour away from both Detroit and Cleveland, make sure to check out those reviews as well for info on Cedar Point, the Henry Ford Museum and other attractions that are right near Toledo.
