This Upstate New York City is probably most famous for its Chicken Wings. They are, after all, called Buffalo Wings. But that's not Buffalo's only claim to fame. It is also the place where the kazoo was invented, which means a trip to the Original American Kazoo Company, the only one in the world that is both a factory and a museum, is a great way to see something different.

TheTheodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site

Theodore Roosevelt was inaugurated in Buffalo, and the house where that ceremony took place, is now a National Historic Site.

The Underground Railroad had Buffalo on its route back in the days of slavery, when many slaves tried to find the best way to Canada. Some of the stations of the railroad included the Michigan Baptist Church, the ferry at Broderick Park, and the Doll House Museum, which was once known as a safe house.

Buffalo is also right around the corner from Niagara Falls. Here you can go to the foot of the falls with a Maid of the Mist cruise, but just as a reminder: you will get drenched! When you visit the Falls, try to see it from the Canadian side. The view is much better.

And then there is Six Flags Darien Lake, which oftens takes Canadian dollars at par. The park not only offers rides and attractions, but also has an outdoor ampitheater which attracts some of the world's top touring acts throughout the summer.
